Josh GriffinMore PostsThe Official Weigh-In

Pretty exciting … lost 30 pounds last year on CalorieKing. Basically just discipline, exercise and limiting the total number of calories for the day. Today’s initial weigh in for another 30lbs? 302.

So that means 329 last November 1st, down to 299. This year, 302 turns into 272. Of course, last year I had an unopened Xbox360 that was some strong motivation. What do I need to motivate me this year? Your help in the comments section is appreciated.

  1. Hey Josh. I weighed in at 408.8 LBs this morning. I’ve been losing weight for about two months now. I started at 445 lbs. How about a race? I could use the motivation to get on my Elliptical machine. The loser (Last to lose 30lbs) has to conceed on the podcast. I’ll leave a voice mail on the simply phone to congradulate you.
Maybe the loser has to buy a goat. I’m up for it. How about you.

  2. Good for you!! You are also inspiring me to get my butt in gear.

I like Kevin’s idea, but maybe not a race as much as a ‘Biggest Loser’ motivation on the podcast. You could choose several contestants and give quick updates through the podcast on how they are doing. You could offer little incentives for weight loss markers. Like for every 30 pounds you get a PDM freebie.

For you personally, how about a Wii as an incentive. That thing looks sweet and Wii Sports looks like it is almost exercise as you play!

  3. Josh, That is awesome. You are an example to us all. If this works out for you, then I am in! I would love to get back to my male cheerleading weight!

  4. Josh, you describe the essence of successful weight management “discipline, exercise and limiting the total number of calories for the day.”

I found your blog by accident, probably because my wife is receptionist at Youth Specialties, and I am with CalorieKing. She is at the YS Convention this weekend; I’d be there too, but I am traveling on CK business this week.

I will try to remember to pray that you acquire the discipline that leads to lifelong weight management success. You are off to a good start!

    Cheers.

  5. I actually use the CalorieKing calorie counter book – great tool! Dude, if they weren’t being so stingy with tickets I would offer you a seat at the Biggest Loser finale as motivation … : (

  6. I like the idea of a challenge as well. I started the year out at 370 got down to 345 and now I am right around 350. I would love to be a part of a “competition” if you decided to do it, like a BL thing…maybe McNutt could be your celebrity encouragement! It would be a great way for us as youth workers to encourage one another and keep each other accountable

  7. I will be out there this week to spoil my grandkids. Sure great to know that I will have the WHOLE BOX of Krispy Kreme for myself and the kids, and that their dad will not poach any.

And planning regular SoCal ritual stops at In/Out, Baja Fresh, Chapoltes, Top Hat and a host of other hot spots not found in Wyoming.

Your loss is, ah, er, your loss!

  8. SpirituallyStarving

so I have an idea … lets get a group and pitch in $$ and the winner gets the loot … or a new Wii!

  9. How is the weight loss going? I’m down to 405.4 lbs.
