Observations during the Dallas (or should I say Columbus – wow, what an upset!) Arena Football game today:

• They should interview NFL quarterbacks the same way they do here in the AFL – live and right during the game at crucial points.
• At any point you have at least 42 sponsors on the screen simultaneously. Wow.
• I might try the new EA arena football game coming up soon, it looks promising.
• The game airs on ESPN-HD, but actually isn’t broadcast in HD – argh!
• There is no replay in arena football, which I think is good. Keep it fast and furious.
• The game is more unpredictable than it’s big brother, field goal attempts that are returnable, bad bounces on the kickoff, and high-scoring, too.
• An upset is classic, no matter the sport or your affinity. When the best record in the league falls to a under .500 team and gets kicked from the playoffs, well … you’ve got to love it.
