I know Andy from Simply Youth Ministry gets a ton of grief on the SYM Podcast we do every week – but I got a chance to visit his small group tonight and the dude is fiercely legit.
He’s in a house with a few combined small groups, so the house is full of energy and just a little bit crazy. As the new HSM guy, he’s been bugging me to visit his guys and crash the Area Bible Study (ABS). So, I grabbed a nice Chinese Mum for the host home mom and a few bags of cookies and milk and headed out.
I’m telling you, Andy isn’t just a guy who sells youth ministry, he is youth ministry. He is a loving caring youth worker, who is living it out. Proud of you, man!

We may have never met but I know you. I see your face in every volunteer that puts in a few extra moments helping that hurting student. I hear your voice in the calming words of my Senior Pastor (so full of love and guidance). Surely, had Jesus walked the earth today, he would be wearing a bracelet that says “WWAD”.

As the captain of the good ship HSM, it its your discernment and great wisdom that keeps the ship afloat. Through your ceaseless and unending supply of love the students of Southern California know Jesus more.
Also you have many leather-bound books and your home smells of rich mahogany.
andy’s an awesome dude, even if he failed to scare me last summer as i walked up to the second floor at the SYM offices. i know he felt disappointed, but it was a good effort. nerves of steel, baby. nerves of steel.

You guys are an awesome resource and knowing that you just aren’t selling resources but also testing them in the real world of youth ministry gives you guys even more credibility.
