Josh GriffinMore PostsHow to Eat a Taco

Somehow you are less of a man if you get halfway through eating a taco and then flip it around and start eating from the other end. Just thought you should know.

  1. Then I am definately less of a man! I do the same thing with a hot dog. What does that say about me?

  2. (in a drill sergeant’s yell) C’mon men! Finish what you start. Pick an end and don’t stop ’til there are no longer any ends to choose from. Being a man means eliminating choices. Pick an end and don’t look back. Food can be your ally or food can be your enemy. Keep your allies close and your enemies closer. The least amount of bites that it takes to devour your opponent, the better. Now get out there and eat like men!

  3. Ah but the taco flip is not about being less of a man. It is done to keep the inner goodness of the taco from falling out. Without the taco flip the last bite or two is only tortilla (or taco shell depending on what you are eating) is left lacking because the essence of the taco has fallen on the wrapper. Flip it and be proud!

  4. But all the stereotypical “being a man” rules have nothing to do with practicality or common sense, and everything to do with unpleasantness.

Thus, the better tasting the beverage (think alcohol or coffee) the more girly it is. The nicer the clothing, the more girly it is. If a movie is made with artistic excellence, it’s girly …

Manhood is apparently defined by being an uncultured, nonsensical masochist … I blame Tim Allen for this. BUT, since these are the man laws (and who am I to disagree?), Josh Griffin’s take on the taco is indeed correct.

  5. Josh I am sad to say that I am less of a man. I eat from both ends. And I pee sitting down. Just watch the video. It’s sad but soo funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDxcyqeRc-4&eurl=http://trevinwax.com/2008/02/09/baptist-preaching-sinks-to-new-low/

  6. yeah man. insane. i was hoping i didn’t cross a line there but it went so well with this post of manliness.

  7. I find it amusing that no women have jumped in on this discussion. I think it’s because we are just simply at a loss for words.

  8. Sara … admit it, in your heart you know this post contains truth. Am I right? A man that flips his taco is less of a man. :)

  9. I suppose I can’t argue with that.

Being a girl – and a taco flipper – I have to assume that it is a girly thing to do :)

  10. I ate three tacos tonight. All three from one end to the other. I’m a man.

Plus I would like to add you a person doesn’t know what they are doing when they order rice without beans or vice versa. You must always eat both together.
