Jake broke the car tonight. Yes, that’s Jake, Allison and I in the back of a cop car. We’re off to a great start, eh? Leigh even saw us along the side of the road. For the record, the cop let us in the back of the cop car to get warm, and the accident happened at a paltry 15mph. But still, makes for some great blog fodder, eh?

Let me light the cannon fuse – since you’ve loaded the fodder for me already…

~What do you get when you send a bunch of youth workers on a trip? You get a “custom” rental car – complete with Back to the Future style wheels that fold-up under the car when you’re about to launch “Light speed to endor!!!”

~Is a youth ministry trip ever complete without someone ending up in the back of a cop car?

~uh – hey Doug… what’s my credit limit?… Ya… Can I just have yours then – mine’s not going to cover this one…

Dude – bummer!!! Hope that this is the low point in your trip!!!

that is awesome. I thought you’d just got stuck in a snow bank from sliding off the road…No…Jake seriously broke the car. Welcome to the snow country my friends.

This is why people in the midwest cringe when we see out of state license plates! Yes, you need to drive differently when snow is involved. We may not be tan, but we DO have cars with 4 wheels that are all still attached.

Who would schedule a conference like this in OHIO in WINTER?? Allstate? State Farm?

LOL these are some great comments. it IS true, why would anyone want a february conference in ohio? and WHY would a bunch of southern californians (even you transplants) try renting a car in crazy weather like that? so funny!

BTW when WAS the last time it snowed in Lake Forest or San Juan Capistrano? just wonderin…

In Jake’s defense… if you have seen his car, driving in normal everyday life is much like driving in snow for him… so Jake has, in essence, a lot of experience in driving in the snow.
