Josh GriffinMore PostsSocial Network for Youth Ministry

I don’t have time to fully check this out, but I stumbled on Tuggle, which hopes to create people management of youth ministry by using online social network community. I like the idea thought and would be interested to see what the community here thinks about it. Interesting idea … though we’re pretty Facebook/MySpace here …

  1. Wow. The guy who started it looks like some sort of evil genius or something…

That said, it looks pretty awesome – something that, if used intentionally, could be really useful. I’m thinking about using it more on my end for connecting and distributing information, rather than a facebook/myspace type of thing…

    thanks for sharing.

  2. We created a social network on ning for Spanish speaking youth workers. It’s a great idea if used correctly. Here’s the site: http://ministeriojuvenil.ning.com/

  3. iyouthministry.com is a good one

  4. Josh, thanks for the awesome post, it’s an honor to be mentioned here.

Bryan Bliss, ha ha, thank you? Yes, many youth leaders have choosen to setup Tuggle with purely managerial aspirations in mind. However, they are in for a suprise when they see that their youth actually have a good time with it themselves. Give it a shot!

  5. Anyone ever checkout http://www.zoecity.com ? Toby Mac is the face of the site. It aims to be a Christian Social Network.

  6. @Daniel…lol…no problem!

It’s just the first thing that popped into my head….no offense meant, of course!

  7. Our youthgroup has been using Tuggle since Jan. It’s been a great resource in connecting with kids, especially if their parents won’t allow them to have facebook or Myspace. It’s safe and secure and nobody from outside your group can get in. We’ve been posting random messages, volunteer opps and even a selfish plea for chocolate ice cream (which…. sidenote… someone actually brought me… how great is THAT!) I love having a safe online community for all the kids… two thumbs up!
