Josh GriffinMore PostsHelp Us Find a Camp

Our leadership has decided to postpone our Mexico trips this year, so we’re scrambling to add a summer camp experience back in. Danny had the idea to post something here, here’s what he just sent me to post:

We need a little help…

As some of you might have heard, HSM has decided to cancel its 2008 Ensenada Mexico mission work. There are some safety issues in regards to traveling to this area at this time with such a large group. We know, though, that this is temporary, and we’re already excited about going back Spring Break ’09!

We’re regrouping right now with an opportunity in our calendar, but need a little help. We would love to provide a camp experience for our students during either of the first two weeks of August, but as you know, it’s a little late in the game. Our old standbys in the area, Hume Lake and Ojai, aren’t options. Does anyone have any other ideas that maybe we haven’t thought about yet? Three factors are super important … date (August 1-16) group size (175-300) and location (within 5ish hours of Lake Forest, CA).

There’s a million dollars in it for anyone that can help us come up with this one (just send the bill to Kurt Johnston)!

    construction ministry in Central, Ky.

I worked for them for three years before re-joining a church staff. A solid organization-great ministry- all inclusive for $150.00 per student (Sunday through Saturday.) All tools provided, crew chiefs provided, worship provided if needed (and it’s great.)

Shoot me an email for more info, I still work with these guys alot.

I take my youth group there for our winter retreat every year and it works great. Haven’t done a summer camp, but I think it would ok. They have a pool, paint ball course and 20 minutes from big bear lake (boating, fishing, etc.)

  7. If you want to drive a bit….Discovery Camp in Columbus Texas….WE LOVE IT!

  8. Check our camp out! We are located in Michigan. We run about 4000 campers through in a summer. Airfare is down right now. You should highly consider coming here, especially if this is going to replace a missions trip to Mexico. Round trip tickets to Grand Rapids, MI are only about 200$ right now from LA. If you fly in to GR, we will pick up up via bus and take your group the rest of the way! Check out our website and feel free to contact us for any additional information.
