Here’s my life by the numbers for the past month:
- 806 emails sent
This is about 40 a day, far less than I expected. - 1,877 emails received
That’s a lot of email. Close to 100 a day – not including days off. - 1,014 blog posts read
I should say skimmed – these all hit my Reader but didn’t all get read. Subject lines REALLY matter to me. - 1 number of days my inbox hit zero
It was a brief and shining moment in Outlook history. Short-lived. - 44 numbers of emails I sent on my day off
This one made me sad. I suck. - 2 number of 4-hour meetings
In defense of these marathon meetings, a couple hours in each of them was awesome. - 242 new Twitter followers
Wow! If you dare, you can join in on the fun here. - 7 nights away from my family
Too many! But it was a rare month, I’m a homebody this year. - 32% visitors on the blog that were 1st-time visitors
I think the conference had a lot to do with the big jump. Welcome, every third person who read this! - 1 install of Windows Vista on my work laptop
Wait for it … I love it! I know!

Explain “7 nights away.” Is that overnights?
Yes – out of 28! Argh! JG
So how many hours of meeting are you in per month? I feel like I am dying in meetings – easily 40hrs/mo.
I’ll calculate next month … too many!

I’m just wondering what you define as a night away from your family? Is that a whole night… Or being at the church late doing something, setting something up? Just wondering.
Night away would be an overnight trip – I went to the Group Conference and had a discipleship retreat as well.

Thank you for setting the bar in evaluating what the last 30 days looked like for you. We could all, or at least I and my family would be served well to consistently evaluate the schedule we keep.
Thanks again!
