this year the 31st falls on one of our weekly teen nights (middle school night) …sine we don’t have “sunday night services” we’re simply encouraging our kids to go out and spend time with their families and friends and to stay out of trouble. In years past we’ve had costume parties and contests.
Our church has normally done a Harvest Party. This is the first year we have cancelled it. We’re trying to cut the excess “crap” at our church. Our harvest party never encouraged people to come back to our church. Plus there are about 5 churches within a mile that do the same thing. We are instead doing a community movie outreach.
Our Harvest Party was a HUGE amount of work for the children’s ministry, so hopefully this will be an time of rest and recharging. I doubt we will ever do one again.
