This week we went after the questions people ask God with the first week of our Dear God series. We took on the questions
why do bad things happen to good people, how do I live with regret, where did evil come from, is the Bible reliable and why would God create humans if he knew they would be evil – among a few others. My favorite part of the weekend was when we broke out this little robot to show how God gave us a free will and a choice to go right or wrong – a choice that exists to this day. We broke out this little fella to demonstrate how he didn’t make us robots. Silly but memorable!

Did God give us a choice, or did the sin in the garden take that away?…I have been wrestling with this lately, as a student pastor, and would like to hear your thoughts
God absolutely gives us a choice. I guess my question is why would a loving God not give us the choice? Why would God force our hand? i think the fact that he doesn’t force our hands is a sign of his love for us. If we didn’t have a choice God would be more like a dictator and not a Father.
But hey this is just my 2 cents.
Just wondering if you actually broke out a robot or if you used the video? Dumb question, I know.
We actually had that robot, yes. We’ll use it all series I think since it was such a success, too.

I worked at RadioShack for a while. It was a slow store so all we really did was play with the robot dinosaur and stuff like that robot.
