This month we launched a new ministry - Oh Snaps! - students taking pictures as a ministry. Basically it is a few students that have their own gear that sign up to serve by taking pictures of baptisms, events or projects we’re working on. It is a huge need in our ministry, and with just a little direction and almost no cost – it is off the ground and running!

UPDATE: A few people have asked how we get the pictures from the students – we use a password-protected site that everyone can upload to at their convenience. While there are lots of great ones out there, SmugMug is the one we currently use.

Hey Josh. Yeah, we’ve got a photography ministry, too. Its such a great idea and so easy to implement. So far, my biggest struggle has been for kids to actually turn in the photos they take! I’m thinking of settiing up an “upload station” they go to before they leave the event. That way, I’m not waiting on an email or a disc to be turned in after the fact. Just an idea for you. Good work, man!

Hey Jerry – I updated the post with how we’re experimenting with uploads, too. Good stuff! JG
