Josh GriffinMore PostsThe Giant LeafI just finished reading for the kids tonight before bed – I got a new book this weekend from a friend called The Giant Leaf. It is brilliant! Easily one of the best children’s storybooks I’ve ever read. The author, Davy Liu, is a veteran of Disney Animation and Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light and Magic. He has a studio just down the road in Laguna Beach. Road trip forthcoming … I want to meet this guy. I hope the story gets made into a movie, its that good!

There’s a cool buzz surrounding the Saddleback Civil Forum featuring John McCain and Barak Obama. Although just announced this week, it is coming up really soon on August 16th at 5pm. In our church bulletin this week, they told everyone about the website http://www.saddlebackcivilforum.com and let everyone know you will be able reserve/purchase (they haven’t decided how it will all work yet) tickets on that site in the coming days and that everyone can watch it live online through the site and the major networks as well. Exciting!
