Geoff StewartMore PostsRoom With A View : Contest Winners!

The competition was fierce! The photos were great, and some of you have some incredible offices and many of you are working in glorified dungeons as well. But these two were the best of the best and the worst of the worst as judged by loyal Journey Volunteer Morgan K.

Worst Office View Goes to: Will Ray of Celebration Family Church in Raleigh NC.

Why did it win: Lets begin with the Alcatraz vibe, cracked foundation and claustrophobic feeling Morgan got looking at it. It is monochrome and not very soothing and this is why it was the “room with a view” worst view winner!

Congrats Will!

Best Office View Goes to: Doug Ranck of Santa Barbara California.

Why did it win: Morgan is a girl, loves the beach and having a view of the ocean is pretty awesome. It just looks relaxing and inspiring all at the same time.

Congrats Doug!

Winners! I leave for Uganda in a few hours. I will contact you when I get back. Go to www.simplyyouthministry.com and decide what you will spend your $75 on.

Geoff StewartMore PostsiPad App Giveaway Winners

The competition was fierce and hilarious with the almost unbelievable items that our contestants keep in their offices but the impartial MTDB Judge Emily vetted the responses chuckling loudly accross the hallway from my office and prayerfully decided that winning items for strangest items in your offices were.

Ryan – A taxadermied frog (possibly illegal)

Erik – Salvation Hot Sauce Collection

Brian – Pee Wee Herman and Chairee (where did you get this?)

Harry – A military practice bomb that he hands out as an award called “You’re Da Bomb”

You will receive your redeem codes via email sometime tonight.

To all the others, thanks! Thanks for being great youth workers who have offices that are fun, disarming and engaging for students to visit and for serving the way you do!

Josh GriffinMore PostsGIVEAWAY: SYMC Conference Registration!

Want to win a free registration to the SYMC Conference in a couple weeks? I’m giving away 1 TODAY! Here’s how the giveaway started:

I am a youth worker in Minneapolis and I’ve been honored to be one of your “guest posts” on your blog a couple of times – anyway, I am paid in full for the Simply Youth Ministry Conference in Louisville, but I am now unable to go. I talked to my team and the other youth guys in the area but they’re either already going or unable to attend – so I’m wondering if you might be able to give it away for me?

So I was thinking if you had some sort of a contest – like have them post their best one-off idea for a youth event/program and the best/most hilarious wins my registration? Something like that? That way I get ideas (nice!) and they get to go to the conference!

So there you have it – post a comment with something of value for the community, and Kory [the youth worker who donated it] will pick the winner Thursday morning!

Josh GriffinMore PostsCONTEST: Win Two Registrations to the Simply Youth Ministry Conference 2011

So the official website just went live for the 2011 Simply Youth Ministry Conference. It lists amazing speakers and great workshops, along with plenty of other reasons to plunk down your hard-earned money (or youth ministry budget if you’re lucky enough to have one) to register and attend. But I might have a way for you to skip out on the whole “paying for it” part.

I’m giving away 2 registrations to the Simply Youth Ministry Conference in Chicago March 4-7, 2011. All you have to do is leave a comment with one thing you love (or would love) about attending a conference with 3,000 other youth workers!

Enter now – and I’ll select one at random next Tuesday!
