If you haven’t read it or seen it ….stop by the local Barns and Noble or BAM and take look through Let Me Hold You Longer by Karen Kingsburry. A TEAR JERKER!!! But made me as much aware of my daughter’s “lasts” as much as I’ve been aware of her “firsts.”

Speaking of stepping on things. Two days ago my wife stepped on a plastic dolphin that was an accessory with my daughter’s barbie doll. The top fin punctured her foot after stepping it! Daughter was in tears as my wife screamed and called the dolphin stupid. “Mom, stupid is a bad word, you shouldn’t call my dolphin stupid.”

Dude, you forgot pain free trips across the room w/o stepping on legos! Very insightful, #4 is so small he can’t get over the toilet so it reminds me of tank wars on dad’s old 8086 on the CGA graphics card, by the third shot … well I don’t have dry toilet seats by any means. Good memories.

Do I lose a man card for admitting to being brought to tears over this? I have a 19 month old boy that has kept sleep at a minimun for his mom and me since he was born. But I would rather lose sleep than not have him do the happy dance when I come to get him up in the morning.

Awesome note JG! I’d trade a whole year of uninterupted sleep (although I still don’t have that) for a chance to savor holding my kiddos while they were little again. Love these years–you get the stickniness along with the sweetness!
