We had the students send out thank you letters right away to all of the people they sent support letters to including an invitation to the dessert. We will show a video, have pictures going on the screen as people arrive and eat dessert, have student testimonies, sing a spanish worship song and have blown up pics of the trip plastered on the wall around the room. We find there is no better way to promote next years missions trip than to have a a few students share with other students. We often start promo for next years trip in the Fall, so to have students share then is a great time to get others on board with the next years trip... It's not all about your group and their report. If you really want to see impact, keep in touch with the people you left behind and see what happened as a result of your being with them. This also helps the people on field stay accountable for following up and establishes a better relationship between ministries. We have a sharing time the Sunday evening after they get back, where the team shows pictures, tells funny stories about the trip, and shares the stories of life change. This always turns into a great time of connecting with the team and having the whole church share the win.
