Even though I'm not a youth pastor, I am involved in youth ministry and sometimes you do need a break. I'm also involved in the college ministry at my church and teach sunday school to 4 year olds once a month. I'm finishing up graduate school and work part time - needless to say I'm busy! There are days when I have to just step away from it all; ignore the phone calls, don't check my e-mail - just hide from everyone :-) I think if we don't take a break once in a while, we're going to eventually get burnt out and then we're no good to anyone. It's hard sometimes to step away, especially when we love what we do but at the same time, we all need to recharge so we stay fresh and can continue to give 100%.
