[...] Favorite Moment: This weekend I was reminded of how important other voices are in our student ministry. Robby (and Phil the week before when I was on vacation) bring a whole new energy and style to their talk. Still God’s Word, still God’s Spirit, but communicated through the personalities he has placed in the leadership of our student ministry. Reminded me of an old post I wrote called 5 Reasons You Should Let Someone Else Teach Next Weekend. [...]

Good question - this go round, it was free reign, though I've been involved to a limited degree with each during preparation.

Josh, when you let someone else teach, do you give them what to speak on and a scripture, or do you let them have free reign? Just wondering.

Josh...I have to totally reaffirm your post. I have had someone covering messages for me for the past month now. It has been wonderful for me personally in several ways. Secondly, it seems to have been great for my group. I'm about to be in a large transition in our ministry and taking over considerably more responsibility and plan on getting others to teach on a more regular basis now. Should help lighten some of my load at times and puts other faces and stories into the students minds.

Hey Josh,

A couple of weeks ago, our church went down for a missions trip to Mexico and for the last 4 years we always stop by Saddleback for service. We were blessed to finally hear Pastor Rick Speak and to see your new Youth Building!

Any how, I managed to see you running around the new youth building and we catch eye contact and I went right away to say hello! You greeted me like you know me and even give me a big hug!

I introduced you to the LARGE ASIAN group that was hating me why don't we have such a great youth room! LOL!

Thanks for acting like you knew me which made me just a little cooler to my youth! It meant at to me!

I always enjoy you on the POD cast! BTW, I feel like I'm the only Vietnamese Full Time Youth Worker listening to you, so Shot outs to all my VIET YOUTH WORKER!

I'm cooler because Josh pretended he knew me,
