Both, Wait 24 hrs & Don’t be afraid to say no – are my favs. Often we say “yes” right away because we are people pleasers. It’s wise to take some time to pray, to ask your wife, touch base with your Senior Pastor or whatever, before you commit yourself to not only the event, but also the prep and travel time.

I like the 24 hour rule. I am a positive guy by nature so I will see all the good stuff that can happen, but 24 hours will let me see the other side as well. I would also add the question I ask myself, “Is this the best use (stewardship) of the influence God has given me?”. Every person will influence a certain amount of people in a lifetime-sociologists say the most introverted person will influence 10,000 in a lifetime, so my influence has to be intentional and purposeful in order to honor God and to maximize the full potential of the influence He gives me.

i recently got rung up 12 hours before an event… so couldn’t wait 24!!
