I want to be spiritual in a tangible way that causes people to glimpse the person of Jesus in me, rather than simply spout a religious dogma that is impersonal and cold. Spiritual IS walking with God in the freshness of life only He can give and giving life away out of the overflow. Every person IS looking for the spiritual. Missional – I want to challenge every person to live in service to Christ by loving and serving others as a lifestyle, that starts with me. Missional IS loving our neighbors, serving others, giving of ourselves. Every believer IS a missionary. Visional – I want to help every believer be equipped, empowered and unleashed to fulfill their individual missional calling through the vision and passion for ministry God nurtures in them. Visional IS passion for impact, mission in action, and initiative in leading. Every believer IS a missionary. Communal – the best expression of missional living and visional lifestyle is lived out in community. Communal IS gathering together, investing in others, doing life together, and growing in faith. Every community HAS a calling. Intentional – I am intentional about creating a community of faith, a community of love, and a community of hope. I am intentional about helping every person find their way to God in Christ, discover their place in God’s redemptive action in this world, seek their personal mission within the Kingdom of God, and find their place in community with other believers. I am intentional about seeing the Kingdom of God as multi-ethnic, multi-generational and mutli-cultural in its make-up and expression within community. Intentional IS on purpose. Every intention should BE captured for Christ. Others include: Familial, Incarnational, Creational, Relational, Multi-cultural, Theological. (Is it obvious I have got some kinda preacher gene in me, I didn't use alliteration but everything ends the same. This first appeared in my heart, then my facebook, and now here.) Am I what I want to be? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. My entire concept of spirituality and ministry has been challenged this summer. Everything is colliding and there's a lot of dust in the air, so I'm rethinking a lot of things. So I think what I want most is clarity. Is there a way to transpose that into something I want to be?
