3) Let My People Think (RZIM)
4) Just Thinking (RZIM) – Ravi Zacharias is a Christian Philosopher and Apologist. Both of these PodCasts are actually sermons that Ravi or other members of the RZIM team have preached all over the world. It’s really solid, scriptural apologetics, as well as being highly intellectual.
5) DriveTime Devotionals – I love this one. One book at a time, One chapter a week, and 15 minutes a day. It’s part of my morning routine on the train into work.

Hey I listened to The Mars Hill one and it was really good. My ABS has watched a large number of the NOOMA video and I have read Velvet Elvis so this was really neat to see. Maybe I’ll have to look into some of the others!

I first heard about Rob Bell through the Nooma videos which I used as conversation starters. However, the more I studied Bell the more concerned I became and after reading Velvet Elvis I jumped completely off the Bell bandwagon. I may check him out from time to time just to see how others think but I don’t trust his teachings and I would never suggest anyone to read his stuff or listen to him as a learning tool.

There is a great podcast from STR.com that you all might want to check out. Greg Koukl is a Christian philosopher and he does an amazing job of describing how to find the key elements of discussions and how to rationally talk about our faith.
Christianity is a thinking persons faith.

Yes. I have. And after also ‘reading every Bell book and listening to all his podcasts’ I don’t know how you can place him on the same theological level with a woman who lives after the writings of Eckhart Tolle. That’s a pretty big accusation. Last time I ‘checked out’ Bell I found him to be very Biblical and very concerned with following hard after the words of Jesus. And only Jesus.
Feel free to disagree with me about Bell, but don’t feel free to judge other people’s spiritual stances and lump them together in your own categories. That’s not “cool.”

Josh,
Really? You think that YouthWorkers have taken then time to check out each person who they find “cool”? I have read every Bell book and listened to dozens of podcasts. I didn’t catch anything that could be fishy with Bell until I started looking into the Emergent movement. Which I know you and Saddleback are not a part of.
But, my question is with the power you have with this blog and other leadership avenues you have, you promoting a person like Bell and others who have this type of theology, it is a dangerous thing.

Maybe you are like me and didn’t know really want Bell believe. You can google him and find out. Although I do think some people are just bashing him instead of taking an honest look at him and the Emergent movement he is in.

Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill, Seattle, did an awesome presentation at Southern Seminary about the different movements happening in the US right now.

We are youth workers and want the best for our students and want to be on the cutting edge of things, in my opinion Bell is not on the cutting edge at all but rather, he is “repainting the Christian faith”, into something that is not Christian at all.

But, no more attacking here. You are an awesome guy and thank you for your resources! The Podcasts you recommend are top notch, except for the Bell one

So you listen to these every week? You amaze me. I want your time ninja secrets. You should do a time study for your loyal fans and share it on your blog so we can see how you spend your time. How much you blog, how much you pour into yourself, how much time with volunteers, how much time with family, etc.

That could be extremely helpful!

Rob Bell? Really?
Even though he doesn’t hold scripture as the final athority?
Even though Rob Bell thinks that the bible is ever changing?

Sure he sounds really cool, and at times has awesome things to share. Do you really want your students falling in love with a theology which does not put Jesus and scripture in high athority?
I mean, I know this is extreme but would you want your students taking spiritural advice and direction from Oprah? Because Bell and Oprah are in-line with the same theology.

The NOOMA podcast is actually just previews of the NOOMA vids. Great, so you can get an idea before you buy, but not a real podcast.
