7,100 Starbucks Closed for Training
Did you know that over 7,000 Starbucks coffee shops today will close at 5:30PM?
The idea of stopping an entire organization for training means one of two things. 1) you’re crazy because the opportunity cost of shutting down all of those store is counted in the millions of dollars, or 2) you really, really, really value training.
Couple of thoughts for us youth workers: what do you need to stop doing to focus on training? Would your volunteers think that you value training? How much budget do you assign to training? And when was the last time you got away to a youth ministry training, too?

PS: Oh, and get your free latte at Dunkin Donuts while Starbucks is closed tonight. No joke …

And as http://churchmarketingsucks.com/ says, it creates a buzz.
What if we shut down our churches for a week because we were retraining all our people? Or shut down our student ministries because we were revamping and retooling and refocusing everything?
My guess is that that very thing might generate a buzz.
To be honest, I want to go to Starbucks tomorrow to see what the deal is. Will my coffee be better? Or will it just TASTE better because of all the buzz?
