Dear God – Week 2

on March 9th, 2008

Just finished week 2 of the Dear God series – our service mainly focused on the afterlife. We answered student’s questions about Heaven, Hell, other religions and how to get to Heaven. It was very interesting to sit in big church this morning and hear Pastor Rick on the very same subject. Watch his message here live this afternoon or click the “current series” tab in the coming days to watch it in the archive.

Next week Doug comes with the finale of Dear God, taking on a stack of questions people asked about the purpose of life and how to live a successful life in God’s eyes. We also started work on a small booklet that answers 50 tough questions, which should be done the week after Easter. We finished the list of questions Friday, so I’ll post them here when they get entered into the computer. This has been a good series for HSM – we get a bit of a break with Easter and a guest speaker, then we jump into a series on gifts and a series on sex. Should be a great Spring!

Josh, I have a video that I think you will appreciate. The ministry I lead did a music video for our series that we are in called “Clue: Who Done It?” I developed the content before I left for 3 months to serve in South Africa. Basically the series is looking at 4 murders in the Bible, gleaning truth from each, until we reach Easter and talk about the murder of Jesus. The amazing part is watching what the team has done with the series while I’ve been gone. THis is the video they put together. It’s a sign of great leadership that things are even better when you leave, right?? Since I’m away the only way I know for you to see the video is on the ministry website at http://www.gracecommchurch.com/highschool.html. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cheers from South Africa,

Josh,

Talk about weird! I am online doing research for a class I’m taking on Video Production. I’m writing a paper on the qualities that have made the Andy Griffith Show endure. I thought I had clicked on a site about “Ernest T. Bass” and I got to a site that seemed totally unrelated. As I was about to exit the site I saw a link to “Joshua Griffin”. I clicked…and here I am! Talk about weird.

I just couldn’t exit without saying “hey!”
