Kara, Katie and all the rest of single ministry America... I AM SORRY! Meant nothing by it and should have worded it better... I think women are just as talented and way better looking than men in the ministry. As for singles, if it were required to be married to be in youth ministry, I would have never made it, because I started solo. Love you all and apologize again. (Matt. 18:33-35)

I was loving this article until I got to number 4. As a single woman in ministry, I definitely felt offended. As youth ministry finally seems to be leaving the "Good Ole' Boys Club" sector, allowing women to feel validated in their calling, comments like #4 can often leave us feeling knocked back down. The same with being single... you don't have to be married to carry the message of Christ to your students. I guess I just have to remind myself that the Apostle Paul's ministry was extremely successful, and he didn't have a weekly date night, nor did he need a "happy wife" to have a "happy life."

Umm... good article, the main point is great, but thanks Luke for just devaluing both singles and women in one fell swoop with the way you stated number 4.
