Jeff, that is an exact mirror of what we do at our church. I think it is great that so many of the students go to the main worship service.

Josh - - it is easy to assume that your ministry is visible... We do! You've got some great meeting space, all the coll toys, the web site with great readership, you seem to have consistent contact with the kids and the adult volunteers... How could you be invisible to the adult worship services???
Thanks for the great reminder on this for all of us to make sure that the whole community is invested in our ministry.
Just as a by-the-by, what sorta general chaos (as well as intentional awareness building) would occur if you closed down the Refinery for a weekend and had the kids sit next to their parents in the adult serives?

We put a slide up that rolls during the announcements before and after the service and also put our meeting time and web site in the worship guide and the occasional live person announcement and we still have folks who don't know we have a youth group that meets each week.

This is a difficult task to accomplish without being intentional about doing it. We have 2 services, 1 during sunday school where most of the students are in a small group and unseen to the congregation, but the cool part for me is that during the 2nd service over 15% of the worship service is students.
I have had to be very intentional about getting information in the worship program and announcements about the youth ministry to keep the word out to visiting families who may have students.
Thanks for your observations and insight Josh, it is a great remeinder to be intentional.
