Parent Texts During the New Mexico Mission Trip
This week we kept in touch with our parents by using our SimplyTxt account and adding a parent list. Here are the texts we sent out over the course of the week. Had so much fun with them – parents commented all of the time how much they loved this new feature this year:
- HSM New Mexico reminder: Pack for very cold nights in Shiprock & slight chance of rain. See you @ 9pm in the Bridge Lot Sunday night!
- The early crew made it to Shiprock, New Mexico safely! Everyone else leaves tonight – see you then.
- New Mexico Update: the early crew made it, it’s COLD. Pack warm, and bring snacks for the bus ride. Josh likes Nutter Butters!
- Everyone from last night is now added to the text list! We just added a prayer guide for the trip here: http://hsm.saddleback.com
- Just finished up a super opening chapel time with games, singing and prayer. Projects begin tomorrow. Goodnight from Shiprock, NM!
- Here’s a fun picture of the whole NM group last night after chapel. So fun – off to serve today! http://hsm.saddleback.com
- Awesome day! A student accepted Christ tonight … such a great moment! They are working so hard, the carnival tomorrow will be great.
- The morning was spent on work projects – the carnival starts in couple of hours. Everyone is doing great – tired, but excited!
- Carnival = HUGE success. We survived a sandstorm, had hundreds of people show up. It was amazing – you would be SO proud of your kids!
- Just uploaded 6 new pictures to the HSM blog from the New Mexico carnival day. Check them out at http://hsm.saddleback.com
- NM Parents! Reply with a funny message to your teenager and we’ll read it out loud in chapel tonight. Fun, heartfelt or embarrassing!
- The messages you sent to be read tonight are priceless! Last chance – everyone’s coming back from work projects, Navajo tacos tonight!
- Such a great night – work projects complete, Navajo tacos, awesome celebration and closing. We leave first thing in the morning!
- Headed home, cruising through Arizona. Still shooting for a midnight arrival at Saddleback. Can’t wait for a shower!!
- The buses are in California and we’re making great time. Stay tuned for our ETA! This bus does NOT smell good!
- We’re making great time and expect to be at Saddleback a little after 9.15pm in the Bridge Lot (where we left from). See you then!
- We’ve arrived and we’re unloading the buses. We’re so proud of all our students, get ready for some stories!!
