Burnt out, tired staffers are unhealthy for the church. One of my pastors makes sure I even take at least one day off a week. Our policy is two weeks for a new staffer and then days are accumulated to add onto that over time. I'm at a little over 3 weeks. We also get a 90 day paid sabbatical every 7 years. I just finished mine and now I have to figure out what to do with the vacation time. I know we are going to vacation at home one week since we live in a tourist area we might as well vacation for free. I usually take time off during the holidays to spend with family plus I have a hard time getting up the gumption to work around Christmas.
