The grow up and deal with it attitude is a bit simplistic. I feel that it is my role to protect my wife and also to lead her spiritually. A big part of that is limiting how much emotional junk from the church I dump on her. I try not to tell her things that would lead to her having a lesser view of the ministry of the church or church leadership unless it directly affects her or is seriously affecting me. This helps her to more freely worship and not go into a service with a cloud over her.

The role of a pastors wife is deffinatly one of support, but the role of her husband is to protect.

My wife was really upset by the comment that we should keep some of the church stuff from them. Her comment was they need to "grow up and deal with it, they need to know what their role is as a pastors wife"
