The Vision Colander
Vision must land in a container of sorts, a leader pours and pours the vision into it, casting vision and seeing a future for your ministry or business.
The container for a youth ministry’s vision is probably more like a colander – as students graduate the ministry, as students come and go as attendees but not as members, as volunteers turn over, as staff changes so regularly, vision is quickly seeping out the bottom. You might need to cast more vision today, it’s been leaking out of the bottom of the colander since you last poured some in.

Thanks to Josh for the conversation this morning (and you thought I wouldn’t credit you).

Dude, you have no idea how pertinent this is for me today. I have been struggling in the last week about vision, thinking that what we had set up as our vision even just one year ago, wasn’t completely accurate aymore, but could not come up with good reasoning to explain this to my leadership. THANKS!
I second Elliott. I’m just glad that I have a small (but mighty) youth ministry team who are willing to help reshape our ministry. Thanks for this post…it’s so easy to forget that I’m not alone.
