I'll try to find a bunch of bulletin formats we've used over the past couple of years and post them ... not sure where we're currently at is where we'll be staying for long ...

It's good to mix things up a bit. It will definitely help your 40 days series to be super memorable!

I'll jump on the bulletin template bandwagon, too... if there's enough room.

I was wondering how the journal was working out. I hope you looked through the ones you had to throw away to see if there were any good tid bits to use for future messages ;)

Can you send me a copy too please? My teens love their "One Month to Live" journals. I'm just loking for ideas.

In my last ministry we used journals probably once a month or every other month and the teens enjoyed them most of the time. I had them leave the journals at the church and would give them to the students when they graduated. I just knew they would take them home and not bring them back or would lose them or even leave them at the church for me to pick up anyways.
I would be interested in seeing your template for your bulletin though. i think its a great idea and have not decided how i want to do one. would you mind emailing me a copy?

Notebooks are a great idea.

Have you ever tried a bigger one that you could even use for a whole year? Pictures this: Nicer journals that you could even have students chip in to help pay for (you take a lot more ownership for something you put down your own dough for). Push hard for a month for students to bring it every week and promise rewards of some sort randomly throughout the year for people that have them. Could even highlight it by having student leaders come up & share what they're learning in their personal devotionals and journaling in their journals. Teach on quiet times & journaling & note taking in youth group & church, and tie it all into the journals. So you're using the journal to instill life habits, and they carry it with them everywhere so they're reminded of those life habits whenever they see it--vi sa vi branding (when you see a Nike swoosh, you think sports, Coca-Cola, you think tasty beverage, etc.). So it's not just a note-taking tool but an ongoing reminder them of what the Lord's teaching them. This generation is very visual. MTV & marketers everywhere are all about visual ques--this is a simple one we could use as youth pastors.

What do you think?

Thanks to Chris for the question about your bulletins. I would also be interested in seeing one or getting an electronic template of what they look like. We are still a young ministry and have not found a way that we like yet. Thanks for the awesome updates and ideas that you put out on this blog!

Any chance of seeing what your bulletins look like? We have tried on several occasions, in several formats. We just can't seem to find anything that works well.
