Congrats on moving to WordPress!! Might I suggest a few tweaks now that you’ve been up and running for a bit? First, I’d turn on permalinks so your post URLs are cleaner. For example, this post’s URL could be http://www.morethandodgeball.com/welcome-to-morethandodgeball.com/ or http://www.morethandodgeball.com/2008/01/07/welcome-to-morethandodgeball.com/ instead of http://www.morethandodgeball.com/?p=2984. Permalinks can be set via Options > Permalinks.

Also, in addition to your archives by month in the right navigation, you might want to make an archives by category.

Congrats on the move to WordPress! I’ve been developing almost exclusively with WordPress for the last couple of years and it is by far (imo) the best blogging/cms out there.

Chris Davis from SYM did all of the importing stuff, but WordPress seemed to do most of the work for us. Blogger doesn’t have an export, but WP can import if you gve it your blogger password, etc.

Here’s my first reaction to WP: lots of bells and whistles, but more awkward than Blogger. Blogger is SUPER basic and SPEED posting is a synch. Once I get past the learning curve for WP, I’m sure it’ll be fine, but it isn’t out of the box as easy.

Anyhow, there you go!

You don’t have to convert, there is an import feature. Once you have your WordPress blog (self install or wordpress.com) go to the “Manage” tab and click on “import”. It can connect to your blogger account and import all posts, comments and users over. It is really quick, only takes 3-5 minutes and then you are setup ready to go!

You seem like just the man to ask…how did you convert your blog over to Word Press? I set up an account with them quite a while back and I really like Word Press, but I never used it because I had done so much within blogger.

Is there an easy way to convert an external blog into the Word Press platform? I really like the tools they provide, but am ignorant on the details to do these types of things. I really never gave it any thought, until I saw that something possibly could be done about it…am I right?

I noticed double feeds come up in my feedreader and then noticed I didn’t get the new updates in my reader. Maybe because I am using Bloglines Beta, but it doesn’t look like my feed updated correctly. Just thought I would let you know. I have fixed it now on my end, but just in case you find others with this problem. Love the new domain. WordPress RAWKS!!!! Its about time you got on board with Tony and I and got out of blogger.
